Fast Forward!

It took me a lot longer than I expected to gather the necessary information for the 11 matches we have available today on both Groups of Football League. I hope you do understand it is very difficult to find and double check everything on a league that is not so popular. There is not much time left until kick off so the matches for Group 2 will be commented in brief:

Gazoros – Aiginiakos

Gazoros had 3 official matches so far, all of them for the Cup:

Karditsa (1-1 away and 0-0 at home), Platanias (3-1 away in the Group Stage)

Injured: Savidis (MID)

Aiginiakos had 3 official matches so far, all of them for the Cup:

Agrotikos Asteras (0-0 at home, 1-1 away), Asteras Tripolis (1-4 at home in the Group Stage)

Banned: Arabatzis (DEF)

Other: Rikka (MID)

Betting Pick: X2 double chance @ 1.50

Both teams followed the same pattern of draws against clubs from Football League in their Cup matches and then they easily surrendered in their battles against opponents from Super League. In theory Aiginiakos has a stronger roster so their win @ 3.00 is not bad at all but it involves risk.

Pierikos – Iraklis 1908

Pierikos had 2 official matches against Tyrnavos for the Cup. They lost both of them (0-1 at home, 2-1 away). Their home defeat was followed by an immediate change at their bench (Mr. Kaberidis was replaced by Mr. Ziogas) and they can now concentrate on their main goal which is to stay away from relegation.

Banned: Ntosis (FWD)

Doubtful: Marcovic (MID), Doikic (DEF)

Iraklis 1908 had 3 official matches so far, all of them for the Cup:

AOT Alimos (1-0 at home, defeat 2-1 away), Levadiakos (1-1 at home)

Banned: Romano (MID)

Injured: Bartolini (DEF), Bamba (FWD)

Betting Pick: 1X double chance @ 1.85

I cannot understand the favoritism the bookies show to Iraklis 1908.  They had problems in their two matches against Alimos and they are not as efficient when playing away. Pierikos is traditionally stronger at home and they are expected to get most of their points there.

Karditsa – Tyrnavos 2005

*The two teams had a friendly match on 06/09/14 and the final result was 0-0

Karditsa had 2 official matches so far, against Gazoros for the First Round Cup (1-1 at home, 0-0 away). They are among the favorites for relegation this season but they are also considered very strong when playing at home.

Absences: A total of 8 players were left out for different reasons.

Tyrnavos 2005 had 3 official matches so far, all of them for the Cup:

Pierikos (0-1 away and 2-1 at home), Kalloni 1-1 away.

Injured: Brancovic

Betting Pick: X2 double chance @ 2.25

I believe the bookies underestimate Tyrnavos 2005 a lot. Their results until now show they are capable of a positive result. Their win @ 6.00 is a value bet I cannot ignore especially when they have a stronger roster (in theory).

Olympiakos Volou – Zakynthos

Olympiakos Volou had 3 official matches so far, all of them for the Cup:

Larissa (0-1 away, 0-0 at home), Panathinaikos (0-1 at home).

Injured: Rokas, Karras

Zakynthos qualified to the Group Stage of the Greek Cup without a match because of the financial problems of Doxa Dramas. Their only official match so far was at home against OFI and the draw they got (1-1) was considered a positive result. They are considered a favorite for relegation and you should keep in mind they were very weak in away matches last season (1W-0D-12L).

Absences: None, full roster

Betting Pick: No bet

Olympiakos Volou can win this match but how can I risk on odds like 1.20 on the opening day of the season?
