The probable win of Panachaiki against Vyzas

Only three matches are left to complete this weekend’s action in Greek soccer. As you probably already know we do not have a Super League match available today. All of them were played on Saturday and Sunday because of the scheduled midweek action. This time many things did not go as I anticipated giving an end to my winning streak (10 in a row) at the Pick of the Day section. It would happen sooner or later but I always hope for the best.

Let’s have a look at the previews of the remaining three matches in Football League:

Vyzas has lost ten out of the eleven matches they have played so far. Do not be confused with the second win that you see at their home (2W-0D-4L, goals 5-9) because it came after a decision of the league (3-0 over Paniliakos – they had lost 1-2). Panachaiki has received one third of the goals that Vyzas has received until now (7 vs. 22) and they must commit a suicide to lose this match. Especially now that a possible win will help them get closer to the Playoffs after yesterday’s results. The away win @ 1.80 is too low for my taste but highly probable.

Those two clubs are only two points away and this match is expected to get all the attention today. Kallithea is the only undefeated team in both Groups (5W-6D-0L, goals 17-8) and they are challenged by Iraklis Psachnon who just has two draws less and they have not lost in the last five (2W-3D). I expect both of them to settle with the point of a draw since Fokikos won yesterday and neither of them would like to get nothing in this match. The draw @ 3.00 is my main choice.

Note: Neutral Venue. This match is held at the Municipal Stadium of Katerini which is the home of Pierikos.  Niki Volou played there on 30/11/13 and they were defeated by 2-1.

Vataniakos may be in relegation placement but they fight their home matches (1W-2D-2L, goals 4-8). They are not that bad in defense lately but they must try harder if they really want some wins. The match against Niki Volou is not expected to be easy at all and they are lucky they will face Niki at this point. Their opponent does not perform well lately while they are in search of a new coach since 06/12/13 when Mr. Tzanavaras was fired. They come from a home win over Giannitsa (2-1) under the temporary coach, Mr. Hondrodinis. Both teams want the win for different reasons, but I will focus on the draw @ 3.00 because Niki Volou can afford this result after the defeats of Karditsa and Gazoros on Sunday.
