7/9 no goal results (5/5 on Sunday)
The fourteenth day of Super League has an amazing total of seven matches where only one team scored. Considering what I have seen so far this was a strange coincidence but I guess we all know everything is possible when soccer and stats mix. The last match will be held today between Panetolikos and Panionios with both teams wanting to get back to wins after two matches.
To the preview and betting pick:
PANETOLIKOS vs. PANIONIOS
Panetolikos comes from three consecutive matches where the team failed to show their usual strong defensive performance. They have lost their last two away matches in Super League (Xanthi 3-1, Asteras Tripolis 3-0) and they are probably left out of the Cup after their midweek home defeat from Atromitos (0-2 playing with secondary lineup). Mr. Chavos is troubled with the last results but the truth is that he constantly has to deal with important absences. Bikey (DEF/8/2 goals) and Melissas (MID/13/2 goals) are banned for this match.
Panionios comes from a home draw (0-0) against Xanthi where they missed a penalty kick at 21’ and wasted their advantage of an extra player for the last thirty minutes. Xanthi came close to win the match in the last minutes but their goal was cancelled by the referee causing their reaction for his decision. Coach Pantelis will not have the services of Panos (DEF/3) and Maroukakis (FWD/3) that are injured but they are not considered first lineup players.
Betting Pick: The win of Panionios @ 10.00
Are you kidding me? Panionios is more experienced than Panetolikos in Super League and they are always capable of doing damage to any team. Do you remember what happened to Panathinaikos (3-0)? I respect the home strength of Panetolikos (4W-2D-0L, goals 10-1) but their undefeated streak will end at some point. Panionios might not be strong away (1W-2D-3L, goals 5-10) but they also gave an end to the undefeated home streak of Giannina earlier this season (0-1). If you want to feel safer the win of Panionios (+0.5) @ 2.85 can be as good. By the way have you noticed that Panetolikos lost from Atromitos? The same team that Panionios won at Nea Smyrni (2-1) which was their last win…
