Both teams want the win badly
Giannina and Asteras Tripolis have something in common. They have been away from wins for three consecutive matches. They have reached that point where fans begin to complain and where rumors for a change at the bench begin to appear. Normally, neither Petrakis (Giannina) nor Verghetis (Asteras Tripolis) should worry in the case of a defeat, as they have connected their names with the good season the two teams had last year. Nevertheless, it is a very difficult match in terms of predictions and I advise you to avoid high confidence bets. The preview and betting pick:
Analysis: PAS Giannina – Asteras Tripolis
Giannina lost the last away match against Panathinaikos (3-1). Coach Petrakis stated he was pleased with the efforts of his players despite the final score. Panathinaikos was in control (total attempts 15-9) and got an early lead at 17’. The second goal at 60’ (penalty kick) made everything more difficult for Giannina who got back in the match at 71’ (new penalty kick). This goal stressed the home team making the last 20 minutes very interesting. Any of the two could have scored but it was the goal of Abeid at 93’, right before the final whistle, that locked the win for the Greens. The truth is the final score was unfair for Giannina.
Midweek obligations for the Cup: Iraklis 1908 (at home 29/10)
Injured: Lila (MID/3/1 goal, key player)
It is strange watching Asteras Tripolis having only one win in their last 8 games (Super League and Europa League). They have not won in their last three matches in Super League and the real surprise is the two consecutive draws against Platanias (1-1) and Xanthi (1-1) at their home where they used to dominate such games. After so many official matches in both competitions it is obvious they have lost part of their strength. In theory their roster should improve some more but the truth is they are running out of time in both Europe and Greece. Their last match was the midweek away battle against APOEL for the Europa League where they got the lead (8) but watched their opponents turning the game around with two goals at 45+8 (penalty kick) and 59’.
Midweek obligations for the Cup: Kalloni (at home 28/10)
Banned: Tormena Ederson (MID/3)
Injured: Košický (GK/4), Goian (DEF/5)
Betting Pick: Both to score @ 2.10
In theory Asteras has a stronger roster but their morale is low because of the consecutive negative results. Giannina are always reliable at Zossimades and considering the need of the two teams for a win I will choose this option.
The home team has a lower budget but most of their players have been together for 2-3 years and they know each other very well. In this period they have managed to get some great wins against every club that usually aims for a top 5 placement. The win of Giannina @ 2.40 is not bad at all.
