Only a few goals in match day 5
With the eight Saturday and Sunday matches completed, match day 5 was proven to be very poor for the offenses of most teams. The last match is held today at Skoda Xanthi Arena where the home team and Aris will be after the win for their own reasons.
Let’s see the prediction and betting pick:
SKODA XANTHI – ARIS
Xanthi was unable to cause any problems to the Champions at Georgios Karaiskakis. Olympiakos punished them for their poor performance with three goals during the first half (4’, 27’, 45’) while Mitroglou completed the triumph for the home team with his third personal goal at 73’ (his second consecutive hat trick). The chairman of Xanthi, Mr. Panopoulos, surprised with his apology to the fans of Olympiakos (!!!) for the poor performance of his team. The coach Mr. Karageorgiou resigned after the match and Mr. Panopoulos thanked him for his services and his professionalism. Nikos Kechagias was announced as a temporary coach.
Aris, and their new coach Mr. Milincovic, went after the first win of the season against Levadiakos but the opponent was improved and managed to score first at 53’ causing stress to the home side. Aris scored the equalizer at 58’ with Udogi and the score did not change until the final whistle. The home team had every right to feel they deserved more after their 17 attempts on goal (vs. 7 for Levadiakos). Aganzo (FWD) will be banned for one more match while Kyrghias (DEF/4) and Papadopoulos (MID/4) are injured.
Betting Pick: The draw at halftime @ 1.85
Strange match… Xanthi and Aris changed their coaches recently, they want the win desperately but the most important thing for them will be to avoid a new defeat. This is a perfect situation for a draw at half time and I really doubt we’ll even see a winner here.
