Our Saturday bets
I was forced to skip the first match of the day for one more week but it was for a good reason. All Super League match days are finally updated in our database so from now on things will get back to normal with frequent updates.
There is no more time to lose so let’s go to the previews and betting picks for the remaining Saturday matches:
ASTERAS TRIPOLIS – ATROMITOS
There was not enough time to publish an analysis for this match on time.
ERGOTELIS – PLATANIAS
Ergotelis comes from the away win against Veria after a goal at 51’ (penalty kick) and they are still undefeated. The home team added pressure for the win mainly with long distance shots (attempts on goal 15-4) but the players of Ergotelis managed to escape with the three points. Mr. Petrakis and his team will now be tested with two consecutive domestic battles, first against Platanias and then against OFI (away) but the morale is superb after the consecutive positive results. There are no problems or absences reported.
Platanias comes from the fifth draw in the last six matches, this time against Panthrakikos (1-1 at home). Their opponents took the lead at 49’ (Cases) but the players of home side added pressure and managed to score the equalizer at 87’ with Nazlidis. Each of the two teams had an attempt at the goalpost (26’ Zequinha, 69’ Faisca) while Platanias had more attempts on goal (13-5). Mr. Ouzounidis will have a full roster for the next match.
Betting Pick: Both teams to score @ 1.90
Ergotelis is strong at home but Platanias has proven to be a very tough team to break. I find it more reasonable to bet on the possibility that both of them will score instead of picking a winner. After all, the undefeated streak of Ergotelis has gone too far while Platanias is playing well and they should get their first win at some point.
PANIONIOS – ARIS
The players of Panionios chose a defensive approach in their last home match against Olympiakos, they received a total of seven yellow cards but they only thing they achieved was a descent defeat (0-2). The team was so focused on defense they actually forgot to attack as their overall 1 attempt on goal (versus the 18 of Olympiakos) shows. Weiss (61’) and Saviola (75’) scored the goals of the Champions while Olaitan saw his attempt stopped in the bar at 35’. There are no problems or absences for the next match against Aris where the goal of the team is to return to wins.
Aris may was desperate for the first win in the last home match against Panetolikos (0-0) but their opponents were well prepared in defense and they managed to escape with a draw. The home team seemed more dangerous in offense after the return of Aganzo who had a shot stopped by the right goalpost at 32’ while they also had a total of 18 attempts on goal versus 10 of their opponent. Kyrghias (D/4), Papadopoulos (M/5), Renja (M) and Triantafyllakos (F/5) are injured and they will miss the match at Nea Smyrni.
Betting Pick: Both teams to score @ 2.00
Aris has been very unlucky in the last two matches against Xanthi and Panetolikos where they had three attempts at the goalposts in critical moments and they could have won more points. Of course, this does not mean I can trust them for a win at Nea Smyrni. For the home team, Aris looks like a great chance for getting back to wins after facing the most difficult opponent of the league. I expect to watch an open match where both teams will score and most probably give us a total of Over 2.5 goals @ 2.40.
