More match days like this will follow
The last match of Day 8 in Super League was just completed and, like always, I spent some time on the odds as they were offered before kickoff. The three Saturday favorites made most punters happy but Sunday and Monday turned to be a disaster. Unfortunately, the average odds offered on the wins of Aris (@ 3.27), Panthrakikos (@ 6.91), the draw of OFI vs. Ergotelis (@ 3.47) and the win of Panionios (@ 4.10) made it almost impossible to find a “safe” combination. Personally, I decided at the last minute to stay away from the Monday match. Honestly, I had no idea what to pick.
Giannina are not Barcelona to win every home match while Panionios is a dangerous team that can win Panathinaikos by 3-0 on a good day at Nea Smyrni but then loses (at the same venue) from Aris by 1-2. I have one tip for you; do not be confused by those results. Start using them at your benefit. According to what I have watched so far, Olympiakos and PAOK are the ONLY top favorites worthy of low odds. The rest of the teams are all vulnerable to absences and rapid changes to their performance even without a good reason.
For this weekend’s results I believe that the break for the World Cup Qualifiers played an important part in all of them. If we look at each match separately we’ll also discover more reasons like the bad luck of a team, a bad performance of a referee etc. More details will be available on the match previews of Day 9. Until then, keep in mind that whether we like it or not we must face a variety of factors that can cause a losing bet (or more rarely a winning one by accident). The only thing that is certain is that we cannot win them all.
