Two very interesting matches of Group C are available today:
Spain vs. Italy
We all know that Spain is a great team but the odds given at Italy (4,75-5,25) make me wonder. If this is not a value bet what is?
Spain has done great so far but this undefeated streak that holds since the European Cup of 2008 has to stop somewhere. These guys have lost only in friendly matches since then. Do not forget that Spain scored in all matches except against Italy in 2008 where they managed to qualify after a penalty shoot-out. I do not have anything to say about Italy that you do not already know. When they decide to play defense they can destroy the tactic of any opponent. I have made up my mind for betting on Italy on +0.5 handicap @ 2.17 and risk a little more with their win @5.25.
Ireland vs. Croatia
Ireland’s players are enthusiastic for their participation in this competition for the first time since 1988. Trapattoni has worked a lot on making a team that is characterized for their solid defense. They rarely receive a goal before the half time and they have become a team that thinks more of not losing that winning a match. They remind me a lot of Greece in Euro 2004 but things like that do not happen every day. Croatia is on their third consecutive appearance in the Euro competition. In 2008 they managed to qualify to the round of 8 with 3 wins, but they were left out by Turkey after a penalty shoot-out. I think that experience will be the key factor in this match. Croatia is usually not fond of draws and it is my opinion that if we’ll see a winner in this match, it will be them @ 2.10.
